Now Seeking Executive Director Position (Volunteer Board Position)

As Carolyn Eynon Singers prepares to celebrate our 20th anniversary season in 2026–2027, we are seeking two dedicated and detail-oriented volunteers to join our Board of Directors as Executive Director.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community choir, we rely on passionate leaders who believe in the power of live music and community connection. These roles are ideal for individuals who enjoy financial organization, collaborative planning, and supporting the arts at a meaningful level.

About the Executive Director Role

The Executive Director plays a vital role in supporting the operations and success of the

organization. Working closely with the President, Artistic Director, and Board of Directors, they help coordinate communications, logistics, fundraising initiatives, and administrative processes throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize choir participation at concerts, performances, and community events

• Maintain ChoirMate information, including dates, times, locations, and music assignments

• Attend monthly Board meetings and provide progress reports

• Support concert planning, including volunteers, ticket sales, ushers, setup, and teardown

• Assist with venue logistics, including pianos, microphones, music stands, risers, recordings, and related equipment

• Oversee choir communications through ChoirMate and organizational announcements

• Support fundraising initiatives, including silent auctions, donor events, and community outreach activities

• Assist with website updates and organizational communications

• Attend the CES Strategic Planning Meeting on September 12, 2026

Annual Schedule

• December Concert

• January Fundraiser

• March Concert

• May Final Concert

• Fiscal Year Ends June 30

Position Commitment

• Approximately 5+ hours per week, with additional involvement during concert weeks and special events

• Active participation in organizational planning and leadership

• A shared belief that live music matters and that singing together connects people

Internship Opportunity

This opportunity could serve as an internship for a graduate student in the nonprofit business department at Arizona State University or a graduate choral conducting student seeking to learn firsthand how a 501(c)(3) arts organization survives and thrives in an independent and self-sustaining business climate.
