Choral Music Student Scholarship Competition

Each spring, two outstanding high school singers in Arizona will each win a $1,000 choral scholarship from Carolyn Eynon Singers! One female singer and one male singer will be selected to receive the scholarships.

Eligibility
-
Currently a junior or senior in Maricopa County
-
Actively enrolled in a school-age choir in Maricopa County
-
Permission from parent/guardian AND from director/vocal coach
Rules
-
Prepare two contrasting vocal solos, each at least 2 minutes each in duration
-
Appropriate repertoire: art song, classical piece, or aria
-
Does not have to be in a foreign language
-

Provide three copies of the prepared solo for the judges
-
Provide your own accompanist (piano available)

Scholarship award funds may be used for any of the following:
-
NAU 2026 Curry Summer Music Camp tuition, or another accredited summer music study program
-
Private voice lessons with an NATS-certified vocal teacher
-
Graduating seniors may apply funds to a choral program at a college or university
-
CES and the camp, teacher, or school will handle all transactions directly

​2026 Competition Details
Recipients will be recognized, receive their awards, and perform solos on stage at the CES concert. — POSTPONED — new spring date TBD.
Required availability
-
Tuesday, POSTPONED, 6:30 to 9:00 PM — all singers to perform in vocal competition

Saturday, May 16, 3:00 to 5:00 PM — winning singers to receive award and perform winning solos at the CES concert

Competition and concert will be at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church, 11735 North Scottsdale Road (between Cactus & Shea; enter from Jenan Drive)

Include a $15 application fee via Zelle, or mail a check to CES (directions on application)

Times will be assigned as applications are received. Please send your application as soon as possible to secure a spot

Times begin at 6:30 PM and will be scheduled every 15 minutes
