Now Seeking Treasurer & Assistant Treasurer (Volunteer Board Positions)
Starting July 1, 2026 | Carolyn Eynon Singers
As Carolyn Eynon Singers prepares to celebrate our 20th anniversary season in 2026–2027, we are seeking two dedicated and detail-oriented volunteers to join our Board of Directors as Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community choir, we rely on passionate leaders who believe in the power of live music and community connection. These roles are ideal for individuals who enjoy financial organization, collaborative planning, and supporting the arts at a meaningful level.
About the Board Treasurer Roles
The Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer play a vital role in maintaining the financial health and transparency of the organization. Working closely with the Artistic Director and Board, they help guide budgeting, reporting, and financial processes throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records, including profit and loss tracking (Excel-based)
Collaborate with the Artistic Director to prepare an annual budget (presented each August for Board approval)
Attend monthly Board meetings (beginning July 2026) and provide a clear digital financial report
Commit to a two-year term of service
Support front-of-house operations at three concerts per season (ticket sales, donations, raffle coordination, and event setup)
Process monthly payments to part-time staff (via Zelle)
Deposit checks and proceeds into the organization’s bank account
Issue annual donation acknowledgment letters for tax purposes
Collect W-9 forms annually from paid staff
Assist with grant applications in partnership with the Board President (including DataArts reporting)
Serve as an ambassador for Carolyn Eynon Singers within the community
The Assistant Treasurer supports all aspects of the role and may share or divide responsibilities as appropriate.
Board Commitment
Annual Board member contribution of $500 (tax-deductible)
Active participation in organizational planning and advocacy
A shared belief that live music matters and that singing together connects people
Who Should Apply
We welcome individuals with experience or interest in bookkeeping, finance, nonprofit operations, or administrative leadership. Equally important is a commitment to our mission and a willingness to contribute time and energy to a vibrant, growing arts organization.
If you or someone you know would be a great fit, we would love to connect.
Please send your resume to CarolynDirector@gmail.com by May 12 and join us as we enter this exciting milestone season!
