Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with an uplifting afternoon of music that reflects the rich and varied soundscape of our nation.
On May 16, the Carolyn Eynon Singers present a joyful musical journey through American history and culture, blending folk traditions, musical theater favorites, patriotic anthems, and contemporary works. The program features beloved classics such as The Battle Hymn of the Republic, When Johnny Comes Marching Home, This Is My Country, and Copland’s The Promise of Living and Boatman’s Dance, alongside Broadway and pop favorites including Dancing with George M., Over the Rainbow, There Is Nothing Like a Dame, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Thank You for the Music from Mamma Mia!
The concert also celebrates the diversity of today’s America with vibrant Latino selections performed by our talented Hispanic singers, as well as music by contemporary American composers who represent our present-day musical culture.
