Dorothy Lincoln Smith Classical Voice Competition

The National Society of Arts and Letters is pleased to present the Dorothy Lincoln-Smith Voice Competition for classical vocalists. A total of $10,000 will be awarded to winners. Ms. Lincoln-Smith, a past National President of NSAL and past Chairwoman of the NSAL Board of Trustees, is again generously underwriting this annual competition, which began in 2017.

The repertoire must include: (a) two opera arias or one opera and one operetta aria, and (b) one art song or one oratorio aria. Three languages, including English, must be represented, and the repertoire selections must be by different composers. Applicants must be 23 to 31 years of age on March 1, 2024. Applications are due at NSAL Chapters by March 1, 2024.

Complete guidelines available in the competition brochure and competition application.
